Born March 2, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Gertrude Ellis. She was a retired dietician and attended Southside Baptist Church.
Graveside funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, conducted by the Rev. J.R. Hall. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.
The family requests memorials be directed to First Assembly of God, 1810 Pleasant Valley Ave., Union City, TN 38261.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Geraldine (Lacy) Bivens of Union City; two grandchildren, Cindy Black (Alan) and Teresa Breeden (Mark), both of Union City; five great-grandchildren, Jer-amy Black, Samantha Black, Madison Breeden, Elizabeth Breeden and Lillian Breeden; and two great-great-grandchildren, Haley Daniels and Macey Rose Black.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy Bivens and Robert Joe Veal Sr.; her son, Dempsy Roy Bivens; two sisters, Catherine McBride and Johnnie Clark; and five brothers, Clyde Ellis, Carl Ellis, Glen Ellis, Kenneth Ellis and F.M. Ellis.
