Linda Toney

Our mom, grandmother, great-grandmother: the mom who took in every stray animal that was dropped off on her dead-end road. The mother and grandmother who took in people who needed a place to stay, a mom who brought handicapped people home at Christmas, because they had nowhere to go, a mom who served the handicapped community for over 30 years. A mom who raised her children to be huggers at Special Olympics. A mom who very rarely told her children “no,” (after the age of 21). A mom who would give and never ask anything in return, (except her books). A grandmother who loved her grandchildren unconditionally. A great-grandmother who snuggled with the little ones every chance she got.
Our mom, Linda Lee Toney, has gone to join her late husband, James Wallace Toney Sr. in heaven. Her children, Shawn Caldwell of Eads, Janine Anderson of Medina, James Wallace Toney Jr. of Martin and Sheree Toney of Indianapolis will be lost without her.
Her grandchildren, Nicole Wright of Brighton, Brittney Moore of Clarksville, Molly Herman of Bowling Green, Ky., and Sam Toney of Martin, who doted on her continuously, will have memories to grow up with and pass on. Her great-grandsons, Collier and Camden Wright, will hear all about their beautiful GG as they grow up.
We will all remember her for her kindness, generosity and for the unconditional love she gave to family, friends and strangers alike.
Your legacy will forever be the warm memories which burn like a beacon in each of us. We will miss you.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton, with burial to follow in the Eastside Cemetery in Martin. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Saturday until the hour of services at the funeral home.
The family requests memorials to be made to St. Jude or Le Bonheur hospitals.
Online tributes may be left at www.hornbeakfuneralchapel.com.
