Patsy Gurien

Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with burial following in East View Cemetery. The Revs. Jerry Leggett and Justin Hiens will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be O’Neil Baker, Greg Moore, Dustin Vernon, Philip Vernon, Jeff Campbell, Ben Meeks and Joe Sergerson.
The family requests that memorials be made to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope, Box 482, Union City, TN 38281.
She was born May 31, 1940, in Troy, daughter of the late Marvin Leslie and Margaret Elizabeth (Agnew) Fitz. She graduated from the former Troy High School and married Jerry Gurien Aug. 7, 1957. He passed away Nov. 5, 2016. She was a retired secretary for the former Clear Vision TV Co. in Union City, where she worked for 15 years. She had also worked with her late husband at the former Union City Towel and at the former Gurien Finishing Co.
She was a member of Union City Second Baptist Church.
Patsy was an example of what a true lady represents. Always kind and graceful, she was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She sacrificed her needs for the good of the family. Her interests included cooking and reading. She loved to make her rum cakes and give to others.

She is survived by two children and their spouses, Beverly (Larry) Vernon and Greg (Cindy) Gurien, all of Union City; four grandchildren and their spouses, Dustin (Amanda) Vernon of Cobbtown, Ga., Ashley (Ben) Meeks and Philip Vernon, all of Nashville, and Kesha Gurien of Union City; two great-grandchildren, GraceAnna Vernon and Caelan Vernon, both of Cobbtown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Tyler L. Gurien; her sister, Dorothy Jones; and three brothers, Charles Fitz, James Fitz and Larry Fitz.
