Bette Easley

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at McCabe United Methodist Church in Martin. Interment will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Bette Jane (Davis) Easley was born Dec. 30, 1930, to the late Charles Leroy and Nellie (Brooks) Davis, one of three siblings that included her sister, Ruth, and her brother, Belton, both of whom preceded her in death.
Bette Jane attended elementary and high school in Jackson and graduated from Lane College in Jackson. She worked in the Kentucky School System until she retired.
Bette Jane married the best man for her, Manuel Easley. He preceded her in death in January 2012. They were married 49 years.
Bette Jane loved music and was a member of the choir and the piano player, when needed, at her church, McCabe United Methodist. She served in different capacities at the church and one of her favorites was working with the United Methodist Women’s group.
She was survived by her son, Gregory (Doris) Davis Sr. (who followed her in death Dec. 22, 2016); her grandson, Gregory Davis Jr.; her great-grandson, Greg-ory Davis III; her niece, Nell (Michael) Blake; three nephews, Michael Hines, Gary Hines and Jerome Hines; her great-niece, Eri-ca Hines; two brothers-in-law, Benjamin (Mildred) Easley and Coris Easley; and her sister-in-law, Doris Bowers.
