Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Johnny Chessor will officiate. Burial will be in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from noon until the hour of services Wednesday.
The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Mrs. Hunter was born May 10, 1941, in East St. Louis, Ill., daughter of the late Robert and Helen Fern (Mayfield) Thornton. She married Lloyd Hunter Feb. 27, 1958. He survives. Peggy was a homemaker and a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 395 in Mason Hall.
She is also survived by her daughter, Frankie (Terry) Worrell of Troy; her son, Audie Hunter of Mason Hall; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Freddie Neisler; two granddaughters, Fallon Adams and Kellye Decker; and two brothers, Joseph Thornton and Mike Thornton.
