Cloyce Grimes

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Dale Batchelor will officiate. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Fredy Venczel, Randy Davis, Tony Gammons, Jordan Grimes, Jeremy Pinkston and Kevin Crider.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Choate and Charles Harris.
Cloyce was born April 16, 1937, in Obion County, son of the late James Edward and Maxine (Huey) Mitchell. He married the former Hazeleen Burton Dec. 31, 1991. She survives. Cloyce served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a aircraft mechanic in the Philippines and had been employed at the former Lear-Siegler in Union City. He was a man of God and a member of Hornbeak Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed going to church, spending time with his family and coon hunting.
He is also survived by three daughters, Tanya Redfearn of Memphis, Pam Turbeville of Dresden and Jill (Fredy) Venczel of Troy; his son, Max (Barbara) Grimes of Troy; three brothers, Bill (Shirley) Mitchell, Larry (Nancy) Mitchell and Dennis (Nina) Mitchell, all of Hornbeak; his stepson, Dale (Donna) Beard of Union City; two special aunts, Rose Huey of Hornbeak and Ray Nelle McMillion of Obion; eight grandchildren, Rachel Layre, Amy Ledbetter, Haley Purdy, Jordan Grimes, Caleb Venczel, Zachary Venczel, Matt Beard and Jeremy Pinkston; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Poole; and three brothers, Jerry Grimes, McElroy “Hoggie” Grimes and Bobby Grimes.
