James Gardner

He was born March 29, 1943, in Hopkinsville, Ky., son of the late Harry “Turk” and Mary Nell (Majors) Gardner. He was a member of Allensville Church of Christ and had served in the United States Army, where he was a Vietnam veteran. He loved his wife of 43 years, his family, fishing and hunting and loved to barbecue.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William “Bill” Gardner.  
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Gardner of Hornbeak; his son, J.V. Gardner of Hornbeak; three daughters, Lori Richards of Hornbeak, Kim Wheeler of Elkton, Ky., and Debra Gardner of Hornbeak; his brother, Danny Gardner of Louisville, Ky.; and two sisters, Judy Coleman and Joanne Goad, both of Olmstead, Ky. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the Gardner family will be this evening from 5-8 at the Todd County Funeral Home in Kentucky. Funeral services are scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday morning at 10 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home in Elkton, with Shane Hessey officiating.  
Interment will be on Wednesday afternoon at 3 at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Obion.
