Chester Revell
Chester was born April 11, 1926, in Glass to the late Guy and Flossie Revell. Chester proudly served a tour of duty in both the U.S. Army and Air Force. In 1954, he relocated to Memphis.
Chester was a devoted father and husband to his wife, Doris. Together they raised four wonderful children. He loved everything John Deere and proudly owned several tractors. He worked for the John Deere Co. and retired after 26 years of service. Upon his retirement, Chester moved to Obion, where he enjoyed farming with his brothers and participating in the local Farmers Co-op.
Chester created a beautiful country home on a hill that provided many cherished memories for all his children and grandchildren. He was renowned for the large family reunions held on that hill and these gatherings were a source of great joy for Chester.
Chester is survived by his son, Eddie Revell (Elaine) of Hurst, Texas; three daughters, Para Stromer (Nick) of Milwaukee, Becky Holter (Mark) of Northfield, Minn., and Charlotte Baker (Bryan) of Bartlett; his grandchildren Michael (Emily), Katie (Chris), Jennifer (JB), Melissa, Lindsay (Mitch), Nathan, Andrew (Aimee), Jonathan (Crystal), Jeremy (Mariah) and Maxey. He also leaves 12 great-grandchildren; his sister, Maxine Hughes; and brothers Ralph Revell (Joyce) and Billy Revell (Wilma).
He was preceded in death by wife, Doris; his parents, Guy and Flossie; his brother, Thomas Revell; and his sister, Nina Willoughby.
Visitation will be at Forest Hill Funeral Home East in Memphis from 4-7 p.m. Friday.
Funeral services will be at First United Methodist Church in Obion Saturday at 1 p.m. Visitation there will be an hour prior to the service. The Rev. John Jones will officiate.
The family extends warm thanks to all family and friends that have given their loving support. They would also like to sincerely thank all of the wonderful hospice care staff, especially Arvis Murrel,l for her love, friendship and caring spirit that so helped Chester through his journey.
