Helen Sanderson

The late Charles W. Sanderson, her husband of 51 years, preceded her in death in 1991.  
Helen was a native of Greenville, Miss., but had made her home in Kenton since 1950. Her parents were the late Richard Patrick Lane and the late Ella (Schmidt) Lane of Greenville.  
Helen was the last surviving of her four siblings. She was a faithful member of Kenton United Methodist Church and had lived an active and healthy life, enjoying her friends, flower gardening and reading. She was an avid sports fan.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sanderson will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Kenton United Methodist Church.
Helen was a devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.  
She leaves her four children, Billy (Connie) Sanderson of Parkers Crossroads, Judy (Jim) Perrin of Enville, Janet (Jimmy) West of Dyer and Greg (Martha) Sanderson of Marietta, Ga. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Bill (Marjie) Sanderson and Jeff (Susanne) Sanderson, all of Kenton; Suzie (Rick) Whitehead and Dwayne Bryant, all of Memphis; DeLinda Jiles of Acworth, Ga.; James (Courtney) Perrin of Nashville; Becky (Chip) Ditto of Newbern; Beth (Daniel) Tillman of Friendship; Helen (Hunter) Mitchell of Atlanta; and Lane Sanderson of Redlands, Calif. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family requests that donations be made to Kenton United Methodist Church.
Karnes and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
