Thelma Wilson

She was born Feb. 20, 1929, in Tiptonville to the late Gus Crafton and Kate (Covey) Crafton. She married James W. “Bill” Wilson of Walnut Log Aug. 12, 1962. He died May 3, 2016.
She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, serving as a Sunday school teacher, and she was  known for her beautiful voice as a congregational singer. She attended the former David Lipscomb College. “Miss Thelma,” as she was known by her students, taught early elementary grades for several years during the 1950s and 1960s at Margaret Newton Elementary School in Tiptonville.
Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 10-10:45 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 in Eastview Cemetery, with Dr. Glen Burse officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bentley Beard, Mark Phipps, Johnny Bacon, Jim Towater, Allen Nohsey, Roland Pope and Wendol Thorpe. Honorary pallbearers will be Lyle Lankford, Regina Mullins and Julie Parker.
She is survived by her son, James W. Wilson Jr., of Nashville.
