Sid Chalker
A celebration of life service was held 2 p.m. Sunday at Sid’s cabin on the pond near his home. Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.
Sid was born Oct. 12, 1938, in Trimble, son of the late Lexie Dean and Theresa (Smith) Chalker. He married the former Connie Long Feb. 18, 1989. She survives. Sid retired after 31 years of service as a package driver for United Parcel Service. He was awarded the Circle of Honor by UPS for drivers who worked for 25 years or more without an accident. Sid was a member of Mount Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served in the U.S. Navy.
He is also survived by two daughters, Cynthia (Tom) Ingle and Linda (Ricky) Albright, all of Troy; three stepdaughters, Marie (Kenny) Adkins of Pass Christian, Miss., Gale (Kenneth) Coker of Dresden and Emma Norquist of Union City; two sisters, Caroline Richards of Bartlett and Polly Bennett of Spring Hill, Fla.; and nine grandchildren, Cierra Ingle of Union City, David Ingle of Houston, Sydney Brooke Albright, Mariah Adkins, Sommer Adkins, Madison Hicks and Aiyana Cross all of Troy, Journey Adkins of Dresden and Joe Adkins of Pass Christian.
