Fred Battle
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Mike Battle, Larry Battle, Steve Battle, Dick Hatcher, Ryan Moore and Byron Betts.
He was born November 19, 1943, in Roanoke, Virginia, son of the late William McDowell and Treva (Cooper) Battle.
Fred was an avid antique collector. He had been employed as a financial advisor for National Business College in Salem, Virginia, and was regional manager for the former Money Place in Union City. He served in the United States Navy and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Rakes) Battle of Union City; one daughter, Jennifer Battle of South Fulton; two grandchildren, Ryan Moore and Erin McDaniel, both of South Fulton; one brother and sister-in-law, Darden and Carol Battle of Richmond, Virginia; one sister-in-law, Kathy Battle of Floyd, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Nina Hatcher and Treva Elizabeth Battle; and three brothers, Ed Battle, Bill Battle and Hurley Battle.
