Charles Sharp
Born March 18, 1927, he was the son of the late Otto and Edith Sharp. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by three sisters, Faye Bracket, Irene Plant and Anna Maude Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Johnson Sharp, as well as their six children and their spouses, June (Gerald) Scarborough, Charlene (Van) Ellingburg, Barry (Shirley) Sharp, Kathy (Paul) Adams, Sandy (Bart) Goodman and Bart Ryan Sharp; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Louise Lashlee of Baytown, Texas, Florence Wilkerson of Hickman, Ky., and Corrinne Castleman of Clarksville; and his brother-in-law, Nathan “Junie” Johnson.
Charles was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., retiree and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion.
A graveside service to honor his life was set for today at 11 a.m. at Liberty Cemetery with his son-in-law Paul Adams officiating.
His grandsons David Scarbrough, Brad Elling-burg, Ben Sharp, Lucas Goodman, Clay Goodman, Tom Moore, Jon Scott, Chad Butler and Daniel Hill were to be pallbearers.
Strong Funeral Home in Hickman, Ky., is in charge of arrangements.
