Iris Sword
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with the Rev. James Gunter officiating. Burial will follow in Triangle Cemetery near Troy.
The family will receive friends from noon until the service hour Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Paul Hart, David Hart, Jeremy Nash, Don Hunt, Marty Yannaccone and Kenneth Hutchison.
She was born Aug. 22, 1922, in Troy, daughter of the late Chester and Aletha (McDaniel) Hart. She married John Daniel Sword in 1944. He died Dec. 12, 1986. She was a retired nurse, having worked for Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis and then as a private duty nurse for more than 20 years. She was a member of Protemus Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan Miller of Memphis, Sunny Jo and Don Hunt of Lexington, S.C., and Marty Yannaccone of Lexington, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Joelle Pandey of Arlington, Texas, and Jason Sword of Memphis; two great-grandchildren, Hillary Bass and Jenna Sword, both of Memphis; two brothers, Jimmie Hart of Troy and Joe Hart of Irvine, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jane Yannaccone; her grandson, Johnny Bass; her sister, Ann Nash; and her brother, Ira Lee Hart.
