Carl R. Jones Sr.

Carl R. Jones Sr., 77, of Hornbeak, formerly of Tiptonville, died peacefully at his residence Aug. 17, 2016.
Memorial services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Burrus Chapel Church of Christ, located at 2026 Wynnburg-Blue Bank Road in Lake County.
Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday at the church.
White-Ranson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Dec. 23, 1938, son of the late Claude and Margaret (Glass) Jones. He was a retired correctional officer from Northwest Corrections, where he worked for 18 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a Reelfoot Lake guide.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Tammy Jones of Clarksville and Brenda and Bobby Childress of Newbern; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Kathy Jones of Ridgely and Carl Roger and Meri Jones of Hornbeak; two brothers, Paul Jones and George Jones, both of Tiptonville; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his Jack Russell Terrier, Little Buddy.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Curtis Jones, Joe Jones, Richard Jones and Jimmy Jones; and his sister, Frances Minton.
