Billy G. Maynard
Billy Gene Maynard, 82, of Union City died Aug. 19, 2016, at Union City Nursing and Rehab Center.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Carr officiating, assisted by the Rev. James Kinsey.
Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held noon until 2 p.m. Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Brown Jr., Bobby Joe Brown, Brock Brown, Brandon Maynard, Mitchell Maynard and Chad Carroll.
Memorials may be made to Sunswept Baptist Church.
He was born Oct. 10, 1933, in Obion County, son of the late William Moody and Mable (Melvin) Maynard. He married Betty Sue (Brockwell) Maynard July 29, 1955. She survives. He worked at the former Brown Shoe for 42 years and at the University of Tennessee at Martin for 12 years. He was a member of Sunswept Baptist Church. He was a Mason with Roberts Lodge 172.
He is also survived by two sons and their wives, Ricky and Linda Brown and Ronnie and Gail Brown, all of Union City; his daughter-in-law, Kay Maynard of Union City; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth Lewis and Donna Craft, both of Union City.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Ronald Maynard; two brothers, Marvin Maynard and Charles Maynard and two sisters, Lucile Speed and Francis Harbor.
