Donald W. Cooper
On Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, Donald Wayne Cooper of Rutherford, TN went home to meet his Lord.
Bro. Don, as he was known, pastored for 30 years in the West Tennessee area. His first church, Laneview Baptist Church in Kenton, grew under his leadership to include the construction of the present church building. He was also very active in mission work, especially in Belize, Central America, where he made over 25 trips.
Bro. Don is survived by his wife of 45 years, Connie Jo, and two children, Jamie (Chris) Moeller and Chance (Reecea) Cooper; four grandsons, Matthew (Jenna) Moeller, Mark (Lauren) Moeller, Michael (April) Moeller and Cody Cooper; two great-granddaughters, Sarabeth and Paislee Fay; and one brother, Ronald (Barbara) Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Geneva Cooper.
He was currently employed at Southern Machinery Repair in Union City, TN as a salesman.
Services for Bro. Don will be at Laneview Baptist Church, 158 Old Rutherford/Kenton Rd., Kenton TN. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 18, beginning at 5 p.m. and the funeral at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, with visitation prior at 12 p.m.
Interment will be at Macedonia Cemetery in Kenton, TN.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a GoFund Me Account to benefit retired missionaries Bro. Ernie and Ms. Martha Alderidge. It’s the “Bro. Don Cooper Memorial Fund.”
