Bernice McMullen
Mrs. Linda Bernice McMullen, 76, of Union City passed away 9:26 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2016, at her daughter’s home in Martin.
Funeral services were to be conducted 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank Gardner was to officiate. Burial was to follow in East View Cemetery.
Visitation was held at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and from noon until service time today.
Pallbearers were Adam Cary, Aaron Cary, Dan Harwell, Joe Crittendon, Hunter Gurley and Matt Spainhoward.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Stanley Chapel United Methodist Church, c/o Kim Slaughter, 5423 Claude Tucker Road, Union City, TN 38261.
Mrs. McMullen was born May 10, 1940, in Hornbeak, daughter of the late Fred Bennett and Clara (Crouson) Covey. She married Dale McMullen June 28, 1958. He passed away October 15, 2005.
She was a homemaker and an active member of Stanley Chapel United Methodist Church. Bernice loved God and her family. She enjoyed playing Scrabble and meeting her friends for morning breakfast.
She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Cary of Woodland Mills and Dana (Ronnie) Craddock of Martin; two sisters, Gail Logan of Oxford, Ga., and Marie McMullen of Westland, Mich.; six grandchildren, Amanda Cary of Jackson, Allison Harwell of Jackson, Adam Cary of Hickman, Ky., Aaron Cary of Mt. Vernon, Ill., Jennifer Crittendon of Union City and Amy Gail Gurley of Union City; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Georgia Lee Smith and Ruth Albright; one brother, Jim Covey; one great-grandson, Drake Gurley; and her son-in-law, Mike Cary.
