Dorothy Vaughn

Dorothy Jean (Elam) Vaughn, 83, of Paris passed away 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Paris Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was a former resident of Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Mitch Fiscus will officiate.
Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Tom Cole, Rick Benefiel, Tony Benefiel, Bryan Benefiel, Jeremiah Judkins, Whitney Cole, Austin Faulkner and Cobey Raines.
Mrs. Vaughn was born January 6, 1933, in Rives, daughter of the late Thomas Bryan and Mary Eleanor (Threlkeld) Elam. Dorothy married the love of her life, Richard Vaughn, on November 22, 1978. He survives. Richard was a devoted, loving and caring husband to Dorothy.
She began her teaching career in Haynes, Arkansas, and had taught at the former Cloverdale School, the former Rives School and retired from Lake Road Elementary.
Mrs. Vaughn was a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church near Paris and was a former longtime member of Second Baptist Church in Union City. She was also a member of the Obion County Retired Teachers Association.
