Bob Chambers

Bob Dunavant Chambers, 82, of Union City died Aug. 9, 2016, at his residence.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at White-Ranson Funeral Home chapel, with Dr. Cecil Sewell officiating.
Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the hour of services on Friday.
Pallbearers will be Garrett Bruce, Andrew Bruce, Mark Cannon, Derek Cannon, Mike Mobbs, David Flood and J.P. Prather.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Carlton Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.
The family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church in Union City or Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope.
He was born May 20, 1934, in Ripley, son of the late Allen Osborne and Effie (Hoeft) Chambers. He married Charlotte Jane Cherry June 7, 1957. She passed away March 17, 2005. He was a medical technologist for Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City for 45 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Union City, where he served as a deacon and was a member of the Carlton Sunday School Class and the choir. He loved painting with watercolors and landscaping.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa Chambers of Union City and Jeannine and Fred Bruce of Fort Mill, S.C.; two grandsons, Garrett Bruce and his fiancée, Chelsea Dehring, and Andrew Bruce, all of Fort Mill; two nieces, Margaret Haycraft of Ripley and Nancy Cannon of Pleasant View; and his sister-in-law, Janette Pacer of Brentwood.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Allen Chambers.
