Marilyn Brown
A memorial service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, South Seminole Chapel, 335 East State Road, 434, Longwood, FL 32750 at 11 a.m. Saturday.
She was born Jan. 13, 1942, in Cairo, Ill., daughter of the late John R. and Dorothy D. Reed. She was a graduate of Cairo High School and she attended the University of Missouri. She married E. Lindsay Brown III July 1, 1961. He survives.
She was a member of Charleston United Methodist Church in Missouri and Northland, A Church Distributed, in Longwood, Fla. She was an active participant in the Northland Women’s Community Bible Study.
She was an avid golfer and a member of Victoria Hills Women’s Golf Association. She was the former club champion at Deland County Club in Florida and at Charleston Country Club in Missouri.
She wanted to be remembered as an advocate for ovarian cancer awareness.

She is survived by two daughters and her son-in-law, Bethany Brown of Lake Mary and Pamela (Brown) and Mickey Smith of Union City; two sons, Gregory Brent Brown of Longwood and Randy Brown of Augusta, Ga.; and three grandchildren, Lindsay J. Smith of Nashville, Russell H. Smith of Atlanta and Laura Reed Smith of Knoxville.
