Joe Neighbors

Born Friday, Nov. 30, 1928, in Rives, he was the son of the late Archie Roy Neighbors and the late Stella (Cawthon) Neighbors.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, was a retired employee of Memphis Light, Gas and Water, was a 65-year member of the Newbern Masonic Lodge and was a member of First Baptist Church in Tiptonville.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern. Officiating this service will be the Rev. J.T. Troutman. Interment will follow in Jones Cemetery in Trimble.
Pallbearers will be William Schultz, Tim Bivens, Tim Bunch, Brian Rice, Mark Pegg  and Jeff Woodard. Honorary pallbearers will be Elmer Staggs, John Snead and Dennis Lee.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9-11 a.m. at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Neighbors of Hornbeak; and his son, William Keenan Neighbors of Memphis.
