Mary Ruth Allen 

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ron Gray officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Buckey Allen, A.J. Gibson, Mitch Speed, Allyn Scott, Will McAdoo and Eric Turnbow.
She was born Aug. 19, 1982, in Pompano Beach, Fla., the daughter of Mary Ann Brawner of Fulton.
She was a graduate of Murray State (Ky.) University with a major in micro-biology, having begun college at the age of 16. She won the East Sider award 1992-93 and 1993-94 and was a jitterbug in the “Wizard of Oz” production by Masquerade Theater. She was in the homecoming court at Fulton County (Ky.) High School in 1998 and played in the Union City girls softball league. She was a Freshman Favorite and held a chair in the FFA at Fulton County High School. She was also a lead character in “Up the Down Staircase” and had two poems published in “Highlights Magazine.”
She is survived by her mother; her son, Ethan Allen of Fulton; two brothers and her sister-in-law, Buckey and Stephanie Allen of Martin and Allyn Scott of Union City; two nieces, Lily Scott of Union City and Olivia Allen of Martin; two nephews, Austin Cavin and Brandon Scott, both of Union City; three cousins, Mitch Speed of Ft. Walton, Fla., Alex Lamberger of Union City and A.J. Gibson of Denver; two aunts, Karen Lamberger of Union City and Jenny Speed Perkins of Ft. Walton; and her grandmother, Jean (Clark) Brawner of Union City.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Henry Odel Brawner; and a special friend, Darren Gray.
