Billy Driver

Services will be noon Saturday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mickey Hanks officiating. Burial will follow in Sanders Chapel Cemetery near Union City.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Bryant Driver, Carl Holland and Kelly Cross. Honorary pallbearers will be Cameron Jordan, Kenneth Driver and Drake Driver.
He was born Dec. 4, 1931, in Obion County, son of the late William Alvin and Lucille (Dunlap) Driver. He married the former June Glover Barnes May 1, 1949. She survives. He had been employed at the former American Metals and the former Lear-Siegler and had served as president of No. 878 Steelworkers Union. He was a welder.
He was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church and had been a member of the Tennessee National Guard. He was a gun enthusiast and World Wars I and II enthusiast. He enjoyed fishing, playing the drums and singing, and he loved life.
He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Billy J. and Darlene Driver of Troy; his granchildren, Kenneth Wayne Driver of Obion, Christy Jordan of Troy, Travis Driver of Gadsden, Ala., Cody Driver of Samburg, Robert Long of Kenton and Jamie Driver of Union City; 10 great-grandchildren; his step-grandson, Billy Laird; five step-great-grandchildren; his brother, Bobby Joe Driver of Union City; two sisters and his brother-in-law, Barbara Cross of Union City and Bonnie and Wayne Napier of Woodland Mills; and his close friend, Katie Sheridan of Martin.
He was also preceded in death by three sons, William Thomas Driver, Sammy Driver and Robert Neil Driver; two daughters, Barbara June Driver and Janice Marie Lawrence; and his granddaughter, Tracy Long.
