Vicki Blanton

A memorial service is planned for Sunday at 2 p.m. at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tim Atkins officiating. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorials be made to Wags & Whiskers, P.O. Box 472, Union City, TN 38281; or Sunswept Baptist Church Women’s Shelter.
She was born Dec. 23, 1943, to the late Thomas and Nelda (Allen) Freeman in Chattanooga. She married Dr. Marvin Asbury “Pete” Blanton III Dec. 29, 1966.
She was a member of Delphian Review Club, Bridge Club and Northwest Tennessee Medical Auxiliary and was first mate on The Bossy Lady. She was also a National Merit Scholarship Finalist.
Vicki is survived by her loving spouse of 49 years; her daughter and son-in-law, Allyn and Carter Hooks; her son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Terra Blanton; three granddaughters, Alisha Blanton, McKenna Oliver Blanton and Addison Grace Hooks; her grandson, Bishop Henry Blanton; her brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Barbara Freeman; her sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Jay Holgate; two nieces, Elizabeth Whitley and Suzanne Coleman; and two nephews, Jackson Holgate and Drew Garverick.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas DeLynn Freeman; her mother, Nelda Ruth Freeman; her sister-in-law, Jina Garverick; and her brother-in-law, Andy Garverick.
