Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Tommy Hall will officiate.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.
Graveside services will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette, Ind. Brother Bob Long will officiate.
Mr. Shepherd was born Sept. 25, 1941, in Lafayette, Ind., son of the late Paul Lee and Edna Violet (Stuckey) Shepherd. He married the former Donna Hutsell April 3, 1976. She survives. Rex attended Purdue University and was a U.S. Army Vietnam conflict veteran. He had been employed as a research assistant with Pioneer Hi-Bred International and retired as a lab technician with Griffin Industries.
He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Capt. Tom and Dr. Christina Ganem Shepherd of Fort Polk, La.; and two granddaughters, Lily Mackenzie Shepherd and Mia Madison Shepherd, both of Fort Polk.
