Dorothy Counce

Graveside services will be noon Friday at Obion County Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Tim Atkins officiating.
The family will receive friends at White-Ranson Funeral Home from 10-11:30 a.m. Friday.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family requests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
She was born Aug. 23, 1917, in Brownsville, daughter of the late Joe Howell and Ola Mai (Williams) Joyner. She married George W. Counce Sr. July 14, 1940. He died Oct. 24, 1992. She was a member of Union City First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Margaret Carter Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Judy Counce of Union City, Jerry and Lisa Counce of Memphis and Keith Counce of Cordova; her brother, Bobby J. Joyner of Bartlett; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her son, George Warren Counce Jr.; her sister, Marjorie J. Frey; and two brothers, James H. Joyner and Jesse J. Joyner.
