Joyce Westbrooks

Funeral services are planned for 7 p.m. today in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Justin Hiens is to officiate.
Visitation is to be held at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5-7 this evening.

She was born Feb. 25, 1934, in Gibson County, daughter of the late William Thomas “Tom” and Mary Novelle (Cowsert) Holt. Joyce worked for the former Kellwood in Rutherford, the former Salant & Salant in Union City and Levi Strauss in Memphis. She also sat with elderly people around Union City until health reasons forced her to retire last year. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, where she was in the Good Samaritan Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Tracey Westrbrooks of Union City; three grandchildren and the spouse of one, Annie and Matt Sanner of Union City, Beth Westbrooks of Nashville and Ivey Westbrooks of Union City; two great-grandchildren, Jane Sanner and Chet Sanner, both of Union City; and three nephews, Reed Sturdivant of Johnson City, Chuck Forester of Kenton and Billy Holt of Levittown, Pa.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, W.T. Holt and Thomas Shirley Holt; her sister, Wanda Faye Sturdivant; and her niece, Nickey Beitler.
