Dora Stone

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Sauer officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home.
The family requests that memorials be made to Gideons International or to Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Stone, Jody Jackson, Ronnie Moore, Billy May, Brian Wilder, Chris Stone and Gerry Melton.
She was born March 19, 1930, in Waverly, daughter of the late George Festus and Bertha (Fortner) Moore. She married James Isaac “Jim” Stone Jan. 25, 1952. He died April 19, 2015.
She had been a secretary for the former Dunn Provision Co. and had worked for State Farm Insurance Co. for more than 30 years.
She was a member of Order of Eastern Star and of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Cindy Stone of Union City and Jim Moore and Martha Stone of Fort Collins, Colo.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Ryan and Amy Stone of Obion, Shaye Anne and Jody Jackson of Wingo, Ky., and Christopher Mark Stone of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Rylee Stone and Anna Cate Stone, both of Obion; and Emery Jackson of Wingo; and her sister, Nancy Sue Moore Curt of Waverly.
She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Steven Jay Stone; her sister, Viola Moore May; and two brothers, George Wesley Moore and James Fortner Moore.
