Dr. Hal Dodd

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crosswind Church, with the Revs. James Kinsey and Jeremy Powell officiating. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery in Martin.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. today at White-Ranson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Russell, Richard Reese, Bobby Rankin, Sam Nailling, Bruce Conley and Greg Moore.
The family requests that memorials be made to Crosswind Church, the American Heart Association or the ASPCA.
Dr. Dodd was born June 12, 1946, in Knoxville, son of the late Frank Dunbar and Fairy Dora (Nowell) Dodd. He married the former Jackie Scribner in 1981. She survives.
He was a graduate of UT Martin and the UT Medical Units in Memphis and served his residency at Jackson Memorial in Miami, becoming director of the emergency room after completing his residency. He had also been employed at Miami Veterans Hospital. He was a cardiologist for 38 years.
Dr. Dodd was a founding member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity at UT Martin and had been a chemistry professor at Brinkley, Ark., and earned his master of business degree at UT Martin.
He was the Obion County medical examiner for 27 years and was a pilot and an avid hunter.
He is survived by his wife; four daughters and his son-in-law, Heather Dodd of Nashville, Jennifer Barnes of the Latham community, Samantha Green of Troy and Olivia and Matt Riley of Union City; his son and daughter-in-law, Halbert “H.B” Dodd III and Brooke Dodd of Martin; eight grandchildren, Tanner Earls of Nashville, Buskin Barnes, Ayla Barnes and Kasota Barnes, all of Latham, Jake Green of Troy, Averi Riley and Boston Riley, both of Union City, and Griffin Dodd of Martin; and two sisters, Julia Dodd of Dallas and Jane Hudgins of Martin.
