Charles Armstrong
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Doy Daniels officiating. Burial will follow with military honors.
The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of services Saturday. Pallbearers will be Larry Wayne Armstrong, Brian Bond, Karl Wenzel, Johnny Berner, Jason Becton and Tyler Berner. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Griffin and Sonny Reese.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
He was born Nov. 27, 1945, in Troy, son of the late Willie B. and Iva Ruth (Lasley) Armstrong. He was a retired electrician who had worked for Union City Electric System for more than 39 years. He was a veteran of the 913 Engineer Co. of the Tennessee National Guard, having served for 27 years. He was also an active member of Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Brian Bond of Jackson and Melanie and Karl Wenzel of Gallatin; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jerry and Pam Armstrong and Delbert Armstrong, all of Michigan, and Larry and Barbara Armstrong of Kentucky; four grandchildren, Amanda Bond, Garrett Bond, Haley Wenzel and Katelyn Wenzel; and two dear friends, Jean Haynes and Jenene Osburn, both of Union City.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Janie Gahan, June Riley and Hazel Armstrong; and his brother, Bill Armstrong.
