Betty Jo McWherter

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Dr. Cecil Sewell officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Vinson Thompson, J.P. Prather, Don Thornton, Lanny Callicott, Ray Burden and Dr. Jerry Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ruth Sunday School Class of Union City First Baptist Church.
She was born Oct. 27, 1933, in Union City, daughter of the late Frank and Iva Mae (Haley) Rendleman. She married Billy Mayo McWherter July 31, 1959. He died April 25, 2000. She was a retired bank teller at First State Bank in Tiptonville and was a member of Union City First Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City auxiliary.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Suzie McWherter of Dresden; her daughter, Leanne McWherter of Nashville; and four grandchildren, Annabelle McWherter of Augusta, Ga., Josh McWherter of Murray, Ky., Brian McWherter of Louisville, Ky., and Jordan McWherter of Dresden.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Norma Myers.
