Virginia Smith

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rick  Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Damon Bryant, Ben Bryant, Thomas Bryant, Dwayne Bryant, Jimmy Jackson and Dwight Grace.
The family requests that memorials be made to Woodland Mills First Baptist Church or the Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope.
She was born Aug. 13, 1919, in Obion County, daughter of the late William Alonzo and Stella Mae (Ferguson) Bryant. She married Bennie Odis Smith Aug. 27, 1941. He died Nov. 30, 1994.
She was a 1937 graduate of the former Woodland Mills High School and was a member of Woodland Mills First Baptist Church.
She was a retired employee of the former Brown Shoe Co. in Union City, where she worked for 41 years. Mrs. Smith was then employed in the fabric department of Walmart for 10 years and was an Avon representative for 40 years.
She was an active member of the Obion County Senior Citizens group for more than 20 years and she loved to play cards.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Andy Minyard of Union City; two sons and her daughter-in-law, Ron and Joann Smith and David Smith, all of Union City; six grandchildren, Ginger Richards, Kelly Martin, Missy Griffith, Rodney Smith, Spencer Minyard and Sam Minyard; four great-grandchildren, Austin Richards, Chandler Richards, Alexandria Martin and Ben Griffith; and her brother, Billy Joe Bryant.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Cindy (Bone) Smith; two sisters, Mildred Mayhall and Ima Bryant; and three brothers, Prather Bryant, Dale Bryant and Milton Bryant.
