Mary Elizabeth Wright

The family will receive friends and family Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, with interment in the Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Musical selections will be presented by her great-grandson Hamilton Provonsha.
Mary was born May 27, 1927, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Vira (Tansil) and John B. Potts McIlwain. She was a homemaker and was a member of Water Valley Pentecostal Tabernacle.
Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joanna Woodruff and Charles Brent Burrow of Kernersville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Coleman Woodruff of Knoxville, Jeff Brandon and Nita (Houston) Woodruff of Lynchburg, Va., William Duffy Woodruff of Duluth, Minn., and James Robert “Bob” and Ann (Helvig) Woodruff of Mahtomedi, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mary is also survived by her dearest younger brother, Charles McIlwain, and dearest younger sisters Barbara Simmons and Margaret Kennedy, all of Union City; and numerous and precious nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover C. Wright in 2005; her parents; an infant brother, Marion McIlwain; her beloved brother, John Glen McIlwain; and close and loving sisters Judy McIlwain and Anna Jean “Jeannie” Hollingsworth.
