Daynon Morrison

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel with interment in the Sandy Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today. A Masonic service will be conducted at the funeral home at 7 p.m. today.

He was of the Baptist faith and had been an electrician for the IBEW #1925. He had served in World War II in the U.S. Navy and had lived in the McConnell community all of his life.
 He is survived by his children and their spouses, Gary Morrison and Rosemary and Johnny Arview, all of McLeansboro, Ill., Jeff and Nan Morrison of Eldorado, Ill., Katie and Jimmy McMinn of Martin, Ronnie Cashion of Dresden and Debbie and Mike Moss of Martin; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Judy Hazelwood of Martin; and his brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Shirley Morrison of Martin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Mason) Morrison, who died Dec. 21, 1914; his parents Orvin M. and Lola (Brown) Morrison; two brothers, Herbert L. Morrison and James M. Morrison; and his sister, Mary Wilson.
