Burial will follow in Union Grove Church Cemetery.
Mr. Pierce passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Union Grove United Methodist Church.
Shelton Funeral Home in Trenton is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Pierce was a retired farmer and an avid hunter and fisherman who had served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee from Feb. 17, 1954, until Dec. 16, 1957. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
He is survived by his siblings, Earl Allen Pierce Jr. and his wife, Ruth; Janet King; Edward Pierce; Polk Andrew Pierce; Frank D. Pierce and his wife, Charlotte; and Brenda Kasun and her husband, Tommy. He is also survived by two stepdaughters, Edna Leitherland and her husband, Al, and Donna Marie Lyons and her husband, Johnny; his step-grandson, Allen Leitherland, and his wife, Brittany; his step-granddaughter, Laura Lyons; his step-great-grandson, John Allen Leitherland; six nieces, Cindy Hicks, Sandra Melton, Marilyn Lynch, Rita Cooper, Sherry Page and Shelia Ervin; and seven nephews, Matt Kasun, Mark Kasun, Keith Pierce, Timothy Pierce, Danny King, Gary King and Kenny King.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl A. Pierce Sr. and Bettie (Hargrove) Pierce; and his half brother, Harry L. Badger.
