‘Skinny’ Braswell

Gary L. “Skinny” Braswell, 66, of Woodland Mills died 6 a.m. Aug. 9, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Family and friends are invited to the Braswell home located at 259 South Thompson St. in Woodland Mills at 3 p.m. Saturday to share memories and stories about Skinny.
Braswell was born July 21, 1947, in Union City, son of the late Don and Hazel (Osborne) Braswell. He married Sherry (Tapping) Braswell Nov. 17, 1973. She survives. Gary had been employed as a truck driver at the former Reelfoot Packing Company and had been the owner and operator of the former Colony Market and Crafty Antiques.
He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Heather Braswell Quinton and Bill Quinton of Union City; three grandchildren and the spouse of one, Magan and Tim Wills of McKenzie, Joe Werner of Union City and Dillion Quinton of Dresden; his great-granddaughter, Addalynn Wills of McKenzie; and his brother, Donnie Braswell of South Fulton.
He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Kathy Braswell and Doreen Braswell; and his grandson, Luke Quinton.
