Edith Stricklin

Edith Stricklin, 73, of Union City died Aug. 11, 2013, at Union City Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Union City, with the Rev. Ron Smith officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Friends may call  at Rawls Funeral Home in Union City from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Mrs. Stricklin was born May 8, 1940, in Henning, daughter of the late Josephine Mann. She married LeRoy Stricklin on June 7, 1959, and he survives.
She was a member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church and was president of the local NAACP. She served on the Union City Electric System power board from 1998-2013 and had been a teacher and director at Miles Head Start.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Tracey Stricklin of Lincoln, Ala.; a daughter, Mignon Stricklin of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Chatari Stricklin and Braylonn Stricklin; and a brother, Q.P. Mann of Southfield, Mich.
