Richard Harrison

He was born in Union City Nov. 9, 1940, to the late Richard and Nettie (Matheny) Harrison. He graduated from the University of Tennessee and was a graduate student at Vanderbilt University. He was employed by Holiday Inns, Memphis, and relocated to Toledo as a controller. He was in the personnel industry for many years in Toledo. A veteran, Richard served for eight years in the Army National Guard and Reserves.
Richard was a member of Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Cashiers. He was a charter member of the Westgate Optimist in Toledo and was involved in many civic and volunteer activities in Toledo, including Special Olympics. He enjoyed Community Theater, performing in many plays both in Toledo and the Highlands-Cashiers Playhouse, and enjoyed golf, his beloved pets and his family.
Richard is survived by his wife, April, of Cashiers; three children and their spouses, Shawn and Sara Reinhart of Cincinnati; Rob Reinhart of Cashiers and Nicole Reinhart Schabel (Paul) of Phoenix; seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Madison, Benjamin, Christine, Caroline, Craig and Paul; two sisters, Martha Frances Hines and Odell Pannel, and his brother William Harrison.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bobby Harrison.
A memorial celebration of his life will be held Oct. 18 at Church of the Good Shepherd in Cashiers.
