Evelyn McKnight

Evelyn Ann (Corum) McKnight, 86, of Union City died Aug. 3, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Union City.
Graveside services are planned for 1 p.m. Tuesday at East View Cemetery, with Charles Miller officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon until time to go to the cemetery at White-Ranson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Keith Forrester, Andy Forrester, Kenneth Grady, Dale Coble, Johnny Garrett and Mikey Pierce.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis or the Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope.
She was born Sept. 15, 1926, in Obion County, daughter of the late Sid and Annie (Prather) Corum. She married John Robert McKnight July 4, 1946. He died Nov. 11, 2011. She was a homemaker and a member of Union City First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Vickie McKnight of Rives; two granddaughters and the husband of one, Tracy and Dr. Jim Batey of Rives and Shelly McKnight of Union City; and two great-grandchildren, Gray Batey and Brooke Batey, both of Rives.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Sarah Lon Corum Buie.
