Larry Cross Sr.

Larry Marshall Cross Sr., 64, of Union City died July 26, 2013, in Louisville, Ky.
Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Martin, with the Rev. Marvin Mercer Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Rawls Funeral Home in Union City.
He was born July 10, 1949, in Woodland Mills, son of the late Randall and Grace (Johnson) Cross.
A 1968 graduate of Obion County Central High School, he studied at Meharry Medical College to become a certified X-ray technician. He was a retired 30-year Goodyear employee, had served in the U.S. Army and was retired from the Tennessee Army National Guard’s 913th Engineer Co. in Union City.
He was a member of Mount Herman Missionary Baptist Church in Woodland Mills and attended Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in South Fulton.
He is survived by his wife, Darline Sneed Cross; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry and Taquitta Cross, Sherron Cross and Shane Cross, all of Union City; two daughters and a son-in-law, Tiea and Eric Davis of South Fulton and Toya Acosta of Nashville; nine grandchildren; a brother, David Cross of Woodland Mills; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty Ferguson of Indianapolis and Jackie and James Anderson of Dyersburg; two uncles, Robert Johnson of Paducah, Ky., and James Bransford of South Fulton; and two aunts, Amelia Johnson of Cleveland and Gladys Johnson of South Fulton.
