Gary Nelms

There will be no services. Visitation was held Monday at Harpeth Hills Church of Christ in Nashville. Williams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He was born Jan. 4, 1949, in Union City, son of Mildred (Bowers) Nelms of Franklin and the late Quitman Nelms. He married the former Marcia Corley June 15, 1973. She survives.
He was a 1967 graduate of Union City High School and he attended David Lipscomb University in Nashville. He had owned businesses in Nashville and Brentwood and had retired from Comcast Cable two years ago. He also built and sold Adirondack-style lawn furniture. He was a member of Harpeth Hills Church of Christ.
Survivors also include his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Amanda Nelms; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Josh Coats and Lindsey and Bryan Pellegrin; his grandson, Will Coats; his sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Ken Cooley; and several nieces and nephews.
