Mark Mitchell

Friends are invited to a visitation with the family 6-8 p.m. July 22, 2013, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. in Houston.  
The family requests that memorials be made to Fort Bend NAMI, P.O. Box 1223, Sugar Land, TX 77487-1223 or to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Alumni Assoc., 47 Mohegan Ave., New London, CT, 06320-8111.   
He was born in Union City, June 16, 1923, son of the late Judge Raymond and Marion (Fowlkes) Mitchell. He was a graduate of Union City High School Class of 1941, U.S. Coast Guard Academy and University of California, Berkley.  
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Shirley (Allwardt) Mitchell; his parents; his brother, John Mitchell; and his foster brother, Joe Hamilton.  
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Mitchell; and his son, Neil Mitchell.
