Iris Wilder

Iris Bateman Wilder, born April 3, 1922, passed away June 29, 2013, at Kirby Pines Manor. She was the mother of Bill Wilder of Rives.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Germantown Road, with burial in Memphis Memory Gardens.  a
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5-7 at the funeral home.
She was born and raised in Arkansas and moved to Memphis in the 1940s, where she worked as a registered nurse for 30 years. She was married to Joe E. Wilder for almost 40 years before his death. They lived on a small farm outside of Bartlett and later moved to Dancyville, where they lived for 10 years. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, growing tea roses and playing games and cards. She was a member of Bartlett United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Bill and Judy Wilder and their children, Brian, Mitzi, Joseph and Jason; Sue and Ken Strong and their children, Laura and Daniel; Mary and Phil Alston and their children, Christi and Andrey; and Joyce Wilder. She also had 10 great-grandchildren.
