Billie Allen

Billie DeMyer Allen, 89, of South Fulton died 6 a.m. June 20, 2013, at Haws Memorial Nursing and Rehab Facility in Fulton.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton. Interment will follow there in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens. 
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1-5 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday until the funeral hour.
The family requests that memorials be made to First Christian Church, 108 Carr Street, Fulton, KY 42041.
A 1942 graduate of Central High School in Clinton, Ky., and Mayfield (Ky.) School of Beauty Culture, she was the former owner of Billie’s Beauty Shop in Clinton. She had also been employed at Newton’s Beauty Shop in Hickman, Ky., and had retired as bookkeeper of the Hickman-Fulton County Rural Electric System.
She resided and raised her family on the Maple Crest Farm near Cayce, Ky., until moving to South Fulton in 1977. She was a faithful member of First Christian Church in Fulton and served on the board. She was a self-taught seamstress who had a flair for style and was a gourmet cook who loved to entertain family and friends at her home and church festivities. Vegetable and flower gardening and needlepoint were hobbies, but her joy was spending time with friends and supporting many community events. She was a member of the Senior Circle and the Red Hat Society. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and she leaves many special friends who will miss her laughter, zest for life and sweet disposition.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Scott and Janice DeMyer of Louisville, Ky.; two daughters and her son-in-law, Shelia (DeMyer) Shaw Henry of Murray and Nancy (DeMyer) and Ted Geistweidt of San Antonio; 12 grandchildren and their spouses, Stephen Scott and Shon Shaw of Murray, Ky., Emma (Shaw) and Steven Lenz of Hendersonville, Scott and Lindsay DeMyer of Atlanta, Angela (DeMyer) and Joe Moses of Southgate, Ky., Lora V. (Geistweidt) and Josh Lowe and Susan Geistweidt, all of Austin, Texas, Sara V. (Geistweidt) and Ryon Vestal of Midland, Texas, William and Dana Bell of Frankfort, Ky., Heather B. and Craig Leis of Louisville,  Don Henry Jr. and Patty Henry of Dallas and Debi and Robert Danielson and Doug and Dana Henry, all of Murray; 23 great-grandchildren; her sister, Virginia Louise Morganti Wilson of Rowlette, Texas; her niece and her husband, Joan L. and Larry Harper of Columbus, Ky.;, two nephews, Larry B. Lewis of Fulton and Ronnie Morganti of Rowlette; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Trula E. McGee and William Lonnie Lampkin; her husbands, Edward Scott DeMyer and H.P. Allen; her sister, Elsie Lewis; two sons-in-law, Stephen R. Vaughn and Donald Edward Henry Sr.; and a nephew, Jim Ray Morganti.
