Bro. David Bayer, age 73, longtime minister for the Fulton Cumberland Presbyterian Church in South Fulton, passed away Thursday, April 9,
2020, at the Hillview Nursing Home in Dresden. Bro. David was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late William and Wanita
“Nell” Myrick Bayer. He was a Murray State graduate and obtained a degree in Bible and Public Speaking from Columbia College Chicago. When he wasn’t pastoring his church family and teaching the Gleaners Sunday School Class, he was found performing weddings for people all over the world for more than 20 years at the Graceland Chapel in the Woods in Memphis. He had a true love of people and the Fulton/South Fulton Communities. He is survived by three daughters, Sara (Kary) Kee of Waxhaw, South Carolina, Lea (Wade) Hayes of Mt Juliet and Carol Stephenson of Dresden; five grandchildren, Karson, William and Addison Kee of Waxhaw, South Carolina, Caroline and Victoria Stephenson of Dresden; and a brother, Joe Bayer of Smithland, Kentucky.
