Union City city council to meet
The Union City city council will meet at 5:30 p.m. today at the municipal building courtroom.
A public hearing will be held to consider an ordinance to amend the official zoning map of Union City to rezone the former Reelfoot Packin Co. property, owned by Mark Cooper and located on Reelfoot Avenue, from M-2 (heavy industrial) to B-2 (intermediate business.)
The meeting agenda includes:
• Consideration of the first reading of an ordinance to rezone the former Reelfoot Packing property as discussed in the public hearing.
• Consideration of the first reading of ordinance Ord. 263-24.
• Consideration of a resolution to authorize repairs to the City of Union City Fire Department’s ladder truck without competitive bidding.
• Consideration of a resolution to accept the concrete contract extension.
• Consideration of a resolution to adopt employment policies effective Jan. 1, 2024.
• Consideration of industrial farm lease bids.
• Consideration of a fireworks bid.
• Consideration of payment of bills.
• Consideration of any other miscellaneous items.
