Betty Rasberry

Betty Ames Rasberry, 77, of Martin, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, at West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin. Graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Newbern with Robert Smith officiating with Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Honoring Mrs. Rasberry as pallbearers were Morgan Smith, Brabdon Rasberry, Collin Smith, Deven Nelson, Tanner Lutz and Paul Garner. Honorary pallbearer was Garry Gamble Jr. Born Tuesday, April 2, 1946, in Dyer County, she was the daughter of the late William Woodrow Ames and the late Opal King Miller Newell. Mrs. Rasberry was a LPN for 32 years at Volunteer-Tennova Hospital in Martin. She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Tommy Rasberry of  Martin; two daughters, Sharon “Sherry” Rasberry Smith (Robert) of Lima , Ohio and Sandy J. Rasberry of Erlanger, Kentucky; one brother, Paul Ames of Dyersburg; one sister, Peggy Gamble of Memphis; six grandchildren, Morgan Smith, Brandon Rasberry, Collin Smith, Deven Nelson, Tanner Lutz and Addison Lutz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Glenn Rasberry; one son, David Alan Rasberry: one brother, Dewitt Lyons; and one sister, Janelle Garner.  Online condolences may be made to the family at johnsonwilliamsfuneralhome.com.
