T.J. Long

Mr. T.J. Long, age 39, of Dresden and formerly of South Fulton, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023, due to a boating accident on Kentucky Lake.
He was born on Oct. 14, 1983, in Fulton to JR and Debby “Deb” Covey Long of Union City.
T.J. was the owner of JR’s Body Shop in South Fulton and a graduate of South Fulton High School class of 2002. He loved his family, hunting and fishing. T.J. also loved sports and coaching kids and working on cars.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Webb Long, whom he married Aug. 19, 2006; a daughter, Gabi Long; a son, GB Long; his parents JR and Deb Long; his father-in-law, Ward (Sherry) Webb; mother-in-law, Joy (Mike) Brummal; a brother-in-law, Matthew (Hillary) Webb of Clinton, Ky.; two sisters, Angela (Justus) Russom of Humboldt and Lisa Glass of Union City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Violet Covey; and his paternal grandparents, Freeman and Vallie Long.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2023. in Hornbeak Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023.
Memorials may be made to the custodial account for T.J.’s children that is set up with Edward Jones in South Fulton.
