Peggie Davis

Virginia Louise “Peggie” Davis, 86, of Union City passed away 3:50 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, at The Waters of Union City. She was a former resident of Troy.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. The Rev. Glenn Watts officiated. Burial was in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Russ Baggett, Chad Davidson, Corey Cox, Bryce Leverette, Jeff Chappell and Edwin Davis.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy Davis, Bobby Rankin and Larry Chappell.
Peggie was born Oct. 30, 1936, in Obion County, daughter of the late Sidney Warren Chappell Sr. and the late Jewel (Long) Chappell. She married Joe Boyd Davis July 1, 1951. He preceded her in death Dec. 2, 2018. Peggie was a homemaker and a member of Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Davis of Union City; five grandchildren, Chad Davis, Stacy Davidson (Chad) and Nicole Baggett (Russ), all of Union City, and Jackson Davis and Emily Brown (Ben), all of Troy; nine great-grandchildren, Ashton Sims, Bayleigh Long, Will Brown, Bentley Brown, Zack Davidson, Mason Davidson, Chevy Davis, Jaden Davis and Kaigan Davis; two brothers, Sidney Chappell and Bobby Chappell (Faye), all of Troy; two special nephews, Billy Davis of Union City and Jimmy Clark of Louisiana; and a special niece, Emily Cox of Troy.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Catherine Louise Davis; one son, Jody Davis; and one granddaughter, Samantha Davis.
